not sure if this has been discussed, but i was recently told of a new arrangement for assembly speakers.

i was told that the body of elders can give the reccomendation for any brother to have a part on the assembly.

the excuse was to allow everyone the chance to teach, how loving of the gb.

He also mentioned he was tired of the same old boring speakers. I think the Key is, they are probably running out of qualified elders.

When I was young, only Pioneer elders were giving parts. I once met Larry Grahmn on an assembly part at Dodger Stadium. Now a MS can share the spirit with the faithful. I assume that they are running out of elders that can still walk, have vision and don't depend on Depends.

This is crazy. I Love this topic though. My wife is of mixed heritage. Black women in the org. are nice too me, but when I am with her, they just stare at us. I noticed that when an I.R. couple (speaker) came to the hall, people would gravitate to the wife, based on her race.

Sooo amusing.

There is no difference from the world. White women will attempt to show off their new Dooney to my wife or whatever they have recently purchased that is high end. Many that will never talk to her, will speak when they have something new. ....mainly cars.

There is usually a comment along the lines, that "See there, I am better than you" She laughs at them, causing anger in the individual.

My wife went to a dinner party recently. It was a mixed-crowd and as always, even in a public dinner club, all the witnesses were segregated. My wife was with 2 white couples that were friends of a friend from her hall. They did not know her, but were very friendly. They were openly racist about the black witnesses at the event. Later she went to socialize with the BLACK Group and they would not talk to her. Someone said she had a black husband and they were very friendly. One extremely,overweight black sister that married a white man was present. Her husband was about 20+ years older than her. About 60 Y.O. The entire evening, around my wife, she spoke of BIG Daddy!! It was an incredible event.

She still attends meeting, but acknowledges, "............and these are God's chosen people?".

I saw it with about 20 co-workers. The white guys laughed, the blacks eventually left.

Our captain said, It's a white humor thing, you guys can't understand it. I am forced too agree with him.

I hated it and can not understand the buzz.

I did not read every post but are you guys serious? I know of hunters that would kill animals for the sheer sport of it. When you eat meat do you think of the torture that the animal went through?

Killing dogs is bad, but really, is it that bad? I do not like what he did at all. i am not condoning his actions. My wife owns several expensive dogs that I put many fires out to pay for. Nevertheless, they are animals. People actually KILL humans (abortions) and are NOT punished to this extent.

What about cock fighting? Is this legal in some areas/ states / countries?

When a horse has an injury in a sport that some enjoy, do they not KILL the animal? If he was walking through the plains and not racing for sport many of the injuries to a horse may not occur. Is their an outcry for horses as for these dogs?

Just curious, do you feel it is hypocritical to eat meat, go fishing or hunt for sport and severly criticize this football player?

I do NOT like Pro Football or care for Vick, it just seems hypocritical when I hear some of the arguments for his punishment.

jws today are not like the ones i knew when i was growing up.

we used to look down upon those that didn't make all of the meetings and regularly go out in service every weekend!

I go to a white hall and the elders are very flexible. Long vacations, no one is ever read off. Big social scene.

I remember in the black KH there was ZERO tolerance. They were like the cops in a college town. Just recently an elder said, "We are soooo close to the end because they are selling military vechicles to the public." "When the great trib. starts, they will use all jeeps and hummers to attacks god's people."
